2024 MotoGP Team Preview: Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP

After facing challenges in the previous season, Yamaha has regrouped and reorganized, poised for a strong comeback. The MotoGP project team underwent significant changes, and with a revamped rider lineup, the team is prepared to take on the challenges of the 2024 season.

Throughout the winter break, Yamaha engineers worked tirelessly to enhance the YZR-M1. While the visual appearance remains consistent with the previous season, the 2024-spec M1 boasts substantial improvements not immediately apparent.

Fan favorite Fabio Quartararo is determined to make 2024 his year, joined by new teammate Alex Rins, who brings valuable technical and riding expertise to the team.

In addition to the new rider lineup, the Yamaha management underwent changes for 2024. Lin Jarvis and Massimo Meregalli continue as Team Principal and Team Director, respectively, leading the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP equipe. Meanwhile, the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team, headed by Kazutoshi Seki, will be guided by rider Cal Crutchlow in 2024.

With a rejuvenated company structure, everyone involved in the MotoGP project is fully motivated to achieve significant progress in the upcoming season.

The 2024 MotoGP race calendar will consist of 21 Grands Prix and 42 races as MotoGP will again engage the popular Saturday Sprint format at every round. The first of 21 rounds begins with the trip to the Lusail International Circuit for the Grand Prix of Qatar from March 8-10.
